My preferred cursor theme is applied almost everywhere BUT so far not with system-wide scope. My preferred theme is one of the standard themes. It is: Simple-and-Soft.
In some contexts I still get cursors of another theme:
Right after I have logged into my system there is a loading-cursor of a different theme. This loading-cursor is also applied when I open specific documents (e.g. odt-files) by clicking on them in Thunar. (The correct loading-cursor is used e.g. by pamac or LibreOffice.)
Also of another theme are the cursors that appear when one hovers over the edges of windows on the screen. (When I hover over the corners of windows everything is fine.)
What needs to be done such that my preferred cursor theme is applied with system-wide scope?
What I did so far:
(1) xfce4-mouse-settings/Theme: I chose: Default
(2) /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme: In this file I wrote 2 lines containing the following content:

(3) /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf: In this file I changed one line to: cursor-theme-name = Simple-and-Soft
