System stuck in boot screen

My system is not booting correctly, and seems to be stuck on the booting screen. I have managed to get access to the system by following [HowTo] Reach a minimal system

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

what were you doing prior to this? updating/installing/uninstalling etc…?
from chroot rerun update:
pacman-mirrors -f 5 && pacman -Syyu
if there are errors post the output here, if there are no errors and you are up to date, post output from:
ldconfig - (this should return nothing, if there are more than lets say 20 lines, dont bother to post, just let me know)
ls /etc/X11/* /etc/modprobe.d
pacman -Qm

what were you doing prior to this? updating/installing/uninstalling etc…?

So a couple days before this I was updating my Nvidia drivers and had some issues with this, however this all went well and has been working for just under a week with no issues.

Today I got a new monitor, aswell as switched from HDMI to DisplayPort and have had issues since then. Not 100% sure why that would cause an issue though

pacman-mirrors -f 5 && pacman -Syyu

I ran this, there were no errors and it didnt do much (im already mostly up to date, it updated versions of firefox though)

ldconfig

Litrally returned nothing

ls /etc/X11/* /etc/modprobe.d

/etc/modprobe.d:

switching the ports is probably the issue…
post also output from:
mhwd -l
since you have dual gpu, dont know what driver is being loaded, either nvidia or intel, or how is the gpu routed through the ports…

my Dual GPU is an inbuilt GPU on my motherboard (Intel), and an actual Graphics Card (Nvidia) which should be the one actually being used

you should have this installed:
video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime
or if you only want to use nvidia, disable intel gpu in bios, if you have the option…

so lets try installing the proper drivers, remove these:
mhwd -r pci video-linux
mhwd -r pci video-nvidia

install the proper ones:
mhwd -i pci video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime
if no errors, reboot and test…

This did work, but I also realized that when changing my monitor I plugged it into my internal GPU, not my actual GPU which would have been why the drivers wernt working, so if you will excuse me im going to go cry at my own stupidity

so if you are planing on using nvidia on games or other things, so switching completely to it would probably better, if you have the options in bios for switching gpus… if you do want that, you cant use the hybrid drivers that you installed, you will need these drivers video-nvidia

So just so im understanding correctly… mhwd -l now displays

(Because im plugged into the main GPU and not using the inbuilt GPU anymore)

In which case you reccomend going back to what I had before?

mhwd -r pci video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime

and

mhwd -i pci video-linux
mhwd -i pci video-nvidia

yes?

mhwd-l now dettects only nvidia, so yes, you should switch to only nvidia… dont need to install video-linux, since intel one is not being detected, only install video-nvidia… however, i dont understand why you are not having a black screen on the hybrid driver…
post output before you reinstall it from:
inxi -G

it works also on the hybrid one, so i would just keep it, and not reinstall it…

Ok, sounds good, appreciate your help
