pamac-manager crashes from the UI. Get this from CLI. How to fix?

05:45:53.559: Using GtkSettings:gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme with libadwaita is unsupported. Please use AdwStyleManager:color-scheme instead.
zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) pamac-manager

The meta package has only the purpose to update to the next kernel when dropped. It actually doesn’t care about EOL at all. Kernel ges dropped, next in line gets installed.

Those who actively maintain their kernels most likely never get those meta packages installed. They act more as a safety net.

You may want to use the gtk3 version of pamac instead. with the latest gtk4 version colouring got changed.

Did this just change with this latest update? What is the proper way to revert from v11.7 to v10.7 ? pamac seems to run OK from the terminal. Occasionally pamac-manager will start from the terminal but repeatedly gives:

Gdk-WARNING **: 06:21:31.664: …/gtk/gdk/wayland/gdkcursor-wayland.c:210 cursor image size (32) not an integer multiple of theme size (24)

Simply install pamac-gtk3

glib 2.82.3 has a regression, plz update to glib 2.82.4

I missed the last 2024-12-06 release which I was planning on updating to soon. How should I proceed with updating my system in this case?

Which first 2 posts :eyes:?

Okay I think I see. Now that I uninstalled all the meta packages, they won’t get installed automatically again and in the future I can manage kernels myself as easily as before? That would be fine for me, thank you!

Hi Guys…
I am having some weird trouble. I logout from Plasma, switch to a console, and run sudo pacman -Syu and after downloading all the packages, it try to update and abort with “exists in filesystem”. But I can’t find information in pacman.log.
What should I do? Do I need to use --overwrite? It’s the first time in several years that I get this error.

redirected stderr to file

Thanks.

I just did that. Thank you!

Three Manjaro systems – a mini, an oldie, and a newbie – all updated without a hitch. Bravo! :slight_smile: :fireworks:

Before the transaction can begin, I am asked to replace a number of packages and I hit enter for them all.

When running sudo pacman -Syu, I am getting the following issue:

:: Starting full system upgrade...

:: Replace libva-mesa-driver with extra/mesa? [Y/n]

error: unresolvable package conflicts detected

:: tlp-1.7.0-1 and power-profiles-daemon-0.23-2 are in conflict

Note that I did miss the last 2024-12-06 update.

What should be done here?

you should only use either power-profiles-daemon or tlp not both as they do not work together

Looks like I answered my own question! I found this page for anyone with the same issue: TLP and Power Profiles Daemon are in conflict

OK. Thanks Phillip. Should I expect any other system impacts from using the gtk3 version?

The new wire-desktop 3.37.3607-1 has a bug (issue for Win created on github); the functions of the right-click menu in the text input field don’t work anymore.

As an easy work-around use the top ‘Edit’ menu or the key combinations that are shown there.

When I try to uninstall kernel 6.11 using
removing linux611 breaks dependency 'linux611' required by linux-meta from above.
I get this: error: target not found: linux611-nvidia error: target not found: linux-nvidia-meta
When I try through the settings manager I get removing linux611 breaks dependency 'linux611' required by linux-meta
So how do I go about removing 6.11?
