[Stable Update] 2024-06-10 - Kernels, Systemd, NVIDIA, Mesa, Qt5

I guess you meant was rather than use? And that you are up to date now?

Yes, sorry, it was a typo. I still had Plasma 5 before updating.

Thanks but I’ve been using Manjaro since 2015 and maintaining the current installation since 2020 and I would like to go on this way, since other distros don’t meet my needs. I just was very busy in the last two months and I had to postpone the updates. I read the known issues of the last months before and after applying the updates and I haven’t found anything about my issue. I’m sure I missed something but I would appreciate some help in figuring out what.

So has anybody a clue about the Libreoffice dark theme thing?

Perhaps try downgrading Libreoffice and see if that fixes it? If it does, then it’s a problem with the new version.

You could try renaming ~/.config/libreoffice with a .bak suffix and then start it anew to see whether it makes a difference.

Thanks. I have tried, still no difference.

I assume by “light mode” you mean the toolbars, menus etc.? You’ll need to try another theme. I’m using “Breeze Black” in the “Colours” option under Global Theme and it looks OK to me.

In any case, I think your query deserves its own thread.

I am talking about the “Mode” setting you can change in Tools → Options… → View → Appearance. Switching among the three available options (System, Light, Dark) has no effect.

Anyway, I have found now a workaround: in Plasma’s System Settings → Colors & Themes → Application Style → Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style… → GTK theme I selected Breath-Dark (there was no selected option before, it was just empty). Now Libreoffice looks forced to stay dark even if I select its Light mode, but this is good enough for me.

Thanks everybody

Did you try reisub and free memory with alt+print+f?
I guess this maybe should close the lockscreen.

After this update, taps of my touchpad does not work.
I can scroll using touchpad yet but It doesn’t recognize single-finger tap and double tap.
In touchpad section of System Settings, I see this message: No touchpad found.

Here is list of my devices:

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Did you remove any orphan packages? I once removed all my orphans and also lost the touchpad tap to click functionality. If this is the case, you can try reinstalling them which is what I did which fixed my issue.

Not without more information. Please create your own Support thread.

Not actually.
I didn’t remove any orphan packages. But for the sake of update, I removed following packages by pacman in order to resolve conflicts:

[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed plasma-integration (5.27.11-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed octopi-notifier-frameworks (0.15.0-3)
[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed plasma5-themes-breath (23.0.0-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed plasma5-themes-breath-migration (23.0.0-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed ksysguard (5.22.0-2)
[2024-06-21T20:00:23+0330] [ALPM] removed jre11-openjdk (11.0.22.u7-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed jre11-openjdk-headless (11.0.22.u7-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed kuserfeedback5 (1.3.0-4)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed breeze (5.27.11-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed baloo5 (5.115.0-1)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed backintime-cli (1.4.3-5)
[2024-06-21T20:00:24+0330] [ALPM] removed dbus-python (1.3.2-2)

I think none of them is related to touchpad.

@Yochanan
I was able to enable one-tap and double-tap for touchpad by creating following file:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf  ✔
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "touchpad"
    Driver "synaptics"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        Option "TapButton1" "1"
        Option "TapButton2" "3"
EndSection

It is now working but touchpad settings is still missing in System Settings program :smiling_face_with_tear:
As you told, I may create a separate support thread for this problem.

By the way, I liked this update and provide some cool features including default transparency.

Since this update, Plasma6 saved sessions don’t restore.
Not a Manjaro issue, it’s happening on other distros.
It was a surprise, coz I didn’t notice there were any KDE6 changes in this update.

Saved session is really important. I usually have about 20 Dolphin windows
on 6 “desktops” (workspaces), and several tabs in each window.
This is how I find my way to the different things I’m working on.
Been using them like this for 7 years. Now they’ve all gone,
I have to think hard for a while to remember where to find each of my jobs.

I did make a Dolphin bookmark folder of each window,
but it’s a lot slower than just going to, say, desktop 4, window 3, tab 5,
which I remember spatially (like places around town), not as numbers, so it’s easy.

I just updated yesterday. Today only issue is that right clic doesn’t work. I dunno if it’s my laptop’s touch pad or due to the update.

Ran into errors importing new GPG keys. Was asking me if I wanted to import some new keys, but gave errors when doing so.

Ran sudo pacman-key --list and saw some errors from gpg about the key database.

Ran sudo mv /etc/pacman.d/gnupg /etc/pacman.d/gnupg.bak, then sudo pacman-key --init and sudo pacman-key --populate as suggested here.

Finally, ran sudo pacman -S manjaro-keyring archlinux-keyring before the final sudo pacman -Syu and update went smoothly.

FYI: With my Linux 6.6.32-1 kernel I also encounter a failed boot process that stops with a black screen and a visible X or Arrow (encountered both) mouse pointer. By using Kernel 6.1.92-1 instead the Manjaro startup fully succeeds and I can login. Please note that I have no NVIDIA graphics card but just use a mid-aged AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega Graphics CPU.

Looking forward to get this boot issue (black screen with X cursor) fixed to switch back to the newest LTS Kernel 6.6.32-1

I had to change the /org/gnome/desktop/peripherals/touchpad/click-method to areas in dconf Editor after update using GNOME… maybe it helps you.

To me it looks like they are being influenced by the discord package.
