like some other people I also have the issue that (I think) Mesa is broken. none of my games on steam that used to launch before the update work anymore. Has anyone found a fix for this ?
Edit: just tried launching a portable exe with wine- also doesnĀ“t work anymore, is this maybe a wine issue ?
Given all those issues (mostly about KDE and related applications), I think Iāll wait with this updateā¦
Also I wonder how many people are using the testing release channel.
Environment: XFCE (+ Compiz). AMD rx480 GPU (with open-source drivers)
Update seems absolutely fine, but using kernel 5.10.30-1 causes strange frame rate issuesā¦
Gaming and even just moving desktop windows etc causes random drops below vsyncād 60hz (itās very obvious & visible). Wasnāt there before the update. Dropping down to kernel 5.9.16-1 completely removes the issue.
[Note: havenāt tested other kernels as yet]
- Also, as a quiet happy user - a big thank you for such a great Linux/Arch-based OS. Havenāt looked back since moving 100% from windows 2 years ago
Evolution stopped working after this update. I use sway - never had any issues with evolution. It seems to have problems getting the passwords as it always asks for them and shows the message on startup:
(WebKitWebProcess:2): dbind-WARNING **: 19:11:36.112: AT-SPI: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown
Any Ideas?
Thatās VERY strange.
Not sure how you update your system, but you should have a .pacnew to diff the config-what-the-grub-devs-think-it-is-good and your config.
A suggestion: I think you should create a new thread for your problem: it will be more visible there.
Digikam menu appear partially translated, some remain in English
My dock is squared, transparent and tall(?) and before the update it was almost opaque, rounded and normal-sized. Not sure what happened there.
@johnnyasantoss Shell theme is broken in the latest update. Either downgrade it or switch to Adwaita.
they said you can delete it, you donāt need it
wow I thought I only had issues with steam but yeah my dock also changed.
are you also on kde plasma?

no new entries appear, when I plug or unplug the monitor.
āSettings - Displayā only shows one display, the one from the laptop
I tried the monitor (with the same cable) on a different computer, works fine.
I also tried other monitors on mine, no reaction.
This is how my Hardware Configuration setting looks like, in case this helps:

Iām using Gnome, but I think Iāll switch themes to see if it gets fixed
hello,
same problem here after an update of gnome-shell-extension Night Theme Switcher today.
All Extensions were turned off.
Not sure if this is a solution for you but I removed that empty folder:
(check if folder is empty before removing)
$ rm -rf $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extension-updates
Then I just logged out and in again. (perhaps reboot might be helpful, too)
Starting the Extension App, I switched on extension again( in the upper right corner)
and I got my āoldā look n feel gnome-shell configuration back.
could you please come back to me once you switched themes? would be highly appreciated!!
Lockup / system freeze on resume from suspend after update (4/18)
XFCE/LXDM - Not a display manager issue since it starts up fine. However, I get a hard freeze on resume. A real hard freeze, unblinking cursor in topleft. Nothing works, no tty, caps locks etc. Have to hit reset each time. Absolutely nothing in logs. How to troubleshoot? Thanks.
I still have a problem with Mesa/Wine/.exe tough I have found a temporary solution with a setting MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.5

But why was it there in the first place?
