Speaker works however mic doesn't work

internal microphone is not working.

I checked some of the available solutions but it didn’t work

Hi, I too am facing the issue with mic. I tried all the troubleshooting examples on ArchWiki PulseAudio but no luck. If I pair the bluetooth earphones mic doesn’t work for that as well. Any help tried every other solution I could find on internet.

ALSA controls for internal (and external) microphone are turned on and levels turned up (maybe too high in the mic boost settings)

I suggest checking PulseAudio configuration:

pactl list cards; pacmd dump | grep -E 'source|profile'

i am a beginner and i honestly don’t know what should i check here. So i have pasted the output from the line of code you have suggested

pactl list cards; pacmd dump | grep -E 'source|profile'

Data shows the Port for the internal-mic is not available

analog-input-internal-mic: Internal Microphone (type: Mic, priority: 8900, latency offset: 0 usec, not available)

Removable devices connected via a jack socket usually show as available when plugged in and not available when unplugged, but internal devices should not have any jack-detection functions and should show as unknown at all times

Please post more information about ALSA devices and drivers

sudo alsa-info.sh --upload

If there are no other problems except for the internal microphone, It should be possible to retask the microphone connection so it is detected as unknown rather than not available

sudo alsa-info.sh --upload
