Sometimes hen i try to boot to Manjaro instead of Windows, it does not boot into the login screen. I shortly get a message about the mounted partitions, this message is gone in a split second and I only see a kind of text cursor in the upper left corner. This does not blink either. Even after about 15 minutes there is still no login. I cant do anything now. I have tried to switch to a tty, to find out whats going on, but pressing CTRL + ALT + F2 does nothing. I dont know if there is another way to open another tty. If i long press the power button to kill the whole thing, the next boot is successful.
I have tried to find out, hats going on later with journalctl -p 3 -xb -2 and this is what i got. But i have no idea how to interpret the logfile. I assume gdm.service fails for some reason. But i have no idea, why.
Maybe someone here can help or at least tell me, how i can start a new tty.

There seems to be only an issue with GDM… I have some experience with Debain servers, but no idea, what the issue here is. Sorry. Maybe you have an idea.
BTW: All filesystems are on SSD. I don’t know if this is important. There is no standard HDD on this laptop. But i don’t think, that this makes problems.
Is there some way to change from the not working login session, to a standard TTY? I have tried to use CTRL + ALT + F2, but nothing happens.
@GoGRaDaN you should be able to find a TTY on any of the function keys from F2-F6.
GDM seems to be failing due to DBUS stopping (or not starting correctly), could you also post the log for dbus?

In all later sessions, there is no issue with for dbus.service.
OK, I’m on it. It seems I have found at least a partial solution, but I’m not really sure. After reading some threads regarding some NVidia issues, I came across a thread where my boot problems are described. They recommend to add the following as boot parameter: acpi_osi=! acpi_osi="Windows 2009". If I do this, this raise some other questions. First: How do I enter the quotes? Should I use acpi_osi=! acpi_osi='Windows 2009' (Single Quotes) by using nano to edit the file, or should I escape it via backslash like this acpi_osi=! acpi_osi=\"Windows 2009\".
And additionally, if I understand this correct, Windows 2009 is for a Windows 7 compatible device. In my case the laptop was delivered with Windows 10, should I better use acpi_osi=! acpi_osi="Windows 2018" ?
I know, questions over questions, but as a newbie at this, it is not very easy in the first steps. Sorry.
