Screensaver hangs system

I have installed Manjaro 21.2.3 Qonos on Intel Core 2Duo, 64 bit cinnamon edition.

When I lock the system and the screensaver starts, if I leave it for an hour or so, the system hangs. It does not respond to the KB or mouse. I have to reboot the machine.

I use a mobile internet connection, through my phone hotspot. I have noticed that when the screensaver is running, if the network connection is abruptly disconnected, say I have switched off the hotspot, then the system hangs.

I am not sure if this is causing it to hang.

What is the problem?
