Remote desktop options for headless KDE plasma on Wayland

Hi,

I know that VNC over SSH has been there for decades, but since KDE also plans to completely drop Xorg support in early 2027, I wonder what options we still have to remotely access a headless machine with a KDE Plasma desktop environment.

It has to allow multiple users to log in at the same time, by the way. And NO, GNOME is not an option for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only one I can think of is krdc.

Another idea

on both systems sync waypipe
on target system enable sshd

then you can run a remote app faster than using remote desktop

waypipe ssh user@host firefox

Thanks for your suggestions. The workarounds look unnecessarily complicated though :smiling_face_with_tear: . Hope that we’ll have a better solution before KDE completely kills Xorg support.
