I’m currently using Manjaro 21.1.0 with kernel 5.10.53-1, on a HP Probook 455 G8.
Today, I want to test the battery consumption of my laptop, so I unplugged the adapter, then did some web-browsing. Not only the laptop drained battery very quickly (lost 30% in the first hour with a 45Whr battery, and I do have TLP on), but the Powertop 2.14 result was also kind of wrong:
The battery reports a discharge rate of 384 mW The energy consumed was 7.73 J The estimated remaining time is 72 hours, 16 minutes Summary: 1670,6 wakeups/second, 0,0 GPU ops/seconds, 0,0 VFS ops/sec and 44,9% CPU use
As you can see, the shown discharge rate was only 0.38W, and the estimated remaining time was 72 hours, which is not only impossible, but also completely opposite to what I experienced. So do you guys know the reasong for this result, and any solutions for it?
Thanks in advance!
P/s: any tips for better battery management is also welcome!
