Cannot add plasma widgets after last update

Hi, ever since the last big update to plasma 5.25.5, every time I try and add a widget or access the widget page on the dashboard the desktop crashes and restarts. I have reinstalled the manjaro-kde-settings package, cleaned out and rebuilt the cache but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I just installed Nobara with is a Fedora based Distro, updated to Plasma 5.25.5, rebooted, rightclicked the desktop and added my widgets without any issue.

I am having the same problem, I hope someone finds a fix soon.
when running plasma shell from konsole after running killall plasmashell i get the following error:

this widget issue happens only when you are using global menu, disable it and it should work normally - check the link in the link above …

And yet another reason to never use Global Menu.
