PDF preview not showing for Network shares in Dolphin

Was glad to find exactly this thread, as the issue is the same…
unfortunately it doesn’t help:

No PDF Previews in Dolphin

I tried to see if I find this elsewhere but so far it looks like my problem is different. I probably managed to mess up configuration somewhere but I cannot find it. Preview in Dolphin seems to work for all file types except PDF. So I start again this thread and hope somebody can give a helping hand, why there is no pdf preview in dolphin, and how to fix this.

Found the issue.
The PDF-Preview didn’t work for SMB-Shares.
If I open a general directory with PDF (on local pc) the preview work.

Any Idea why?

Also note that if previews are enabled for remote storage, then — depending on the speed of the network connection and of the physical storage medium of the remote device — it may take some time for the previews to load, and especially so in remote directories containing many files.

Note that by default previews for remote storage are disabled in Dolphin. Using the image posted by @Aragorn as a reference, change:

Remote storage: Show previews for no file to a number (in megabytes) that you’re comfortable loading a preview for over the network.

Remember that the larger the file size specified, the longer it takes for previews to be generated, and this can affect your network browsing experience.
