Pamac seems to be a bit broken

@Kobold
i did nothing special,regular updates on stock configuration.
i checked with pacman -Qi before removing orphans.

@nikgnomic
indeed,for some reason Skype didn’t/couldn’t update and was out of date.
i removed and reinstalled it.

let’s see if that fixes the issue.

skypeforlinux-stable-bin was shown in previous post without AUR as source

I need help figuring why some packages appear as installed from AUR
skypeforlinux

Outdated AUR package can be replaced with skypeforlinux-bin

Skype4linux

sof-firmware is needed on Intel laptops for digital microphone array - sofproject.org
Package would be an orphan on a desktop system

Creative Labs AE-5 cards use snd_hda_intel driver

Pamac seems to be working as expected for both scenarios

But you found 4 unknown packages and skype is only one… that would be strange.

OP had 6 Foreign packages of unknown origin in screenshot posted 6 Oct 2024

yes,in an earlier post; six packages from packages moved to AUR and probably some leftovers,
and it seems they changed the name of the the Skype one and removed “stable” from it which prevented it from updating(i assume).

Changelog for skypeforlinux-bin on AUR shows initial release date of 2016

My pacman log shows I had this package installed in 2017, but it was replaced in 2018
