if only “Enable AUR Support” is enabled the user will not be offered AUR upgrades at all?

Check for updates must also be enabled to update/upgrade AUR packages

this thread is in response to a users experience

Post #17 was originally posted in [Unstable Update] November 2024 Edition to correct a previous comment that seemed to be factually incorrect

Pamac, when used to upgrade both repository and AUR packages, will not make distinctions between the two

Pamac GUI shows if a package is from Manjaro repositories or AUR

If a package is no longer available from either Manjaro repositories or AUR, pamac GUI does not show anything - Pamac seems to be a bit broken

Pamac, when used to upgrade both repository and AUR packages, does not follow best practices for ALPM in regards to the order of operations

For best practice I would suggest either:

• use pamac update before pamac GUI
• turn off Check for updates in pamac GUI
• manually un-check AUR packages in pamac GUI

wondered why the dependency change to mhwd hadn’t appeared.

Dependency changes should be less problematic when they are released to Testing branch, since Yochannon has resolved dependency issue for mhwd 0.6.6-1
