btw: do i have right selection of video drivers

This is telling you that the problem is qt5-webkit.
This is an unsupported third party package that only exists in the AUR.
As an AUR package it is your responsibility.
Do you need it?
(pacman -Qi qt5-webkit)
If not then remove it.

This has absolutely nothing to do with your kernel.

PS.

This repo has not existed for over a year.
It also probably means you have not managed your pacnews.

qt5-webkit was ownwed by acetoneiso2.
i removed them.
should i replace dbus-python with extra/python-dbus and continue upgrade? m asking cause cant cope with

pacdiff  ✔
==> ERROR: Cannot find the vim -d binary required for viewing differences.

Sure thing. You can install it again (and rebuild qt5-webkit) if you decide after the upgrade that you do want acetoneiso2.

So you mean during upgrade it asks to replace?
dbus-python package does not exist in the repos or the AUR.
So I would very much allow that replacement.

Not sure what that has to do with the other parts, but…

Most people dont set their DIFFPROG. You seem to be most people.

The default is vim -d.

And you dont have vim installed either.

Besides which pacdiff without the -s wont have power to make edits or remove files.

So… if you want to use pacdiff with a different diff program and you want it to have powers to actually make changes then you should use it like

DIFFPROG=meld pacdiff -s

(where meld is your preferred diff program that is installed)

ty!
i did my upgrades , stickted to gui.pamac couse my skills are even less than most people here. so if its not a bad need i wount set DIFFPROG.
after reboot, pamac is still glitchy (more like blindly)

hope theme change will resolve it.

You need to manage your pacnews.
There is no two ways about it.
You must compare the files and make changes.
For example /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew would show a removal of the [community] repo that should be applied to your system. Until now you are continuing to attempt to use this defunct repository.
Similar affects could be true for any number of other pacnew files you have not managed.

Maybe.

I just installed and ran pamac-gtk and I could see fonts and icons.
Out of curiosity - are you using pamac-gtk or pamac-gtk3 ?

PS.
Your error reminded me of another recent post. But theirs was garbled text.

yes, while searching for solution that post makes me start the topic.

nice thing after upgrade - octopi notifier tray icon appears. have looked in octopi, it says pamac-gtk is on. would it be wrong installing further updates through octopi.

theme change has no effect, blindly window remain, maybe video driver is not set correctly and it affects pamac behavior ?

about pacnews manage ,must say it looks like i can easily make some fatal errors and m not about enough time and skill to manage such outcome.
