OK…sheesh, now my head is hurting…

What happens when you run:

optirun glxspheres64  āœ”
zsh: correct 'optirun' to '_optirun' [nyae]? zsh: command not found: optirun

Both of them return this.

Ah! I was under the impression bumblebee is installed, but apparently not:

find-the-command: "optirun" may be found in package "extra/bumblebee"

So install that first:

pamac install bumblebee

…and then try again.

Choose optional dependencies for bumblebee:
1: bbswitch: switch on/off discrete card
2: nvidia: NVIDIA kernel driver
3: virtualgl: alternative back-end for optirun
4: lib32-virtualgl: run 32bit applications with optirun
5: lib32-primus: faster back-end for optirun

Enter a selection (default=none):

should I choose any of those?

They being optional, perhaps choose #2, the Nvidia driver.

I haven’t done this before, I only have 1 GPU, so I’m just guessing here.

After installing bumblebee, and rebooting my pc, now only my VGA monitor lights up and works, and this is the output of the commands you mentioned earlier:

[ 150.042621] [ERROR]The Bumblebee daemon has not been started yet or the socket path /var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect.
[ 150.042641] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running?

Update: Tried removing bumblebee and using optimus, same thing happens. I think I’m gonna have to switch distros.

This may be a good way to find which driver needs to be installed.

Then come back and install these in manjaro :innocent:

Or even easyier:
Try with a live-linux (any distro). If your 2nd monitor works, look which driver is active. Then come back into your installation. Someone will be able to help you activate this driver in manjaro.

:footprints:

How can I list the drivers? is it

mhwd --listinstalled?

because I tried installing nobara and when I booted through my usb stick, the second monitor worked

Ok guys. I’m on a live version of Nobara 38, and both the monitors work, how can I see the list of all drivers?

Ok, I’m guessing here, but I have the ouput of lsmod:

Hmmmm…here:

It shows that your Nvidia card is using the Open-source drivers. So I’m guessing that’s what you selected on startup with the Live Environment?

We need to see the proprietary one’s output and if i t works. Could you please reboot and be sure to select them on startup?

I can’t select them, they just boot up automatically, I don’t get prompted to choose.

That’s…different from what I experienced when I used a Live USB last time…

I am terribly sorry, but if that’s the case, I have absolutely no, nothing, nadda of an idea how to continue…

:sob:

Edit:

It would have, should have been a menu like this:

https://forum.manjaro.org/uploads/default/original/3X/2/6/26435800466e90b118839b80ef2f6e71d84ee5b7.png

I think you missed the part that I live booted Nobara 38…

Edit:
So I’m guessing to live boot Manjaro and select both of the options to see whether any of them work?

You mentioned it worked. But the inxi output showed the Open-source drivers. So we need to see if it works with the proprietary drivers as well. And get the inxi output for that, too.

Nope. The boot choice should be similar, if not the same between that and previous versions.
