Nvidia blackscreen when plugged into HDMI

I’m runnin my notebook (Gell G15 5515) with a external HDMI display. About 2 days ago when i turned on the pc it wouldn’t boot screen. When i unplug the HDMI everything works just fine. If i plug the HDMI after logon both the internal and the external monitor goes black… I can still see the cursor and move it. With the alt+shift+f# key i can access other ttys but the screen won’t go back to normal untill i reboot.

can you try on boot , press Esc to get Grub ,
go in advanced section , (e)dit ans suppress “quiet splash”

This might be related;

Relevance: Testing and Stable branches.

Please see the Stable Update 2025-03-24 announcement, under Known Issues and Solutions; specifically, the item System may hang during splash screen when Nvidia 570 drivers are used:

See the linked item for a workaround.
