dmesg: read kernel buffer failed: Operation not permitted is just an error message that you need to run with sudo privileges (Sorry, we tend not to include that)
Then also give both an inxi output and the file that sudo alsa-info.sh creates when the sound is not working so we can compare what’s missing / is failing…

You succeeded in a post above, what’s different now? Are you sure you’re putting backticks around the whole output? It should begin and end the three ticks. If there’s an html link in the output you’re trying to paste, can you just remove the whole link? We probably don’t need it anyway…
If you cannot post link for using alsa-info.sh there are other ways get data for troubleshooting
To establish which of the 2 audio devices is used for HDMI audio, please post response to
aplay -l
to check if devices are detected in ALSA (or any error messages)
sudo dmesg | grep snd
and to check audio devices detected in pulseaudio
pacmd list-sinks

Have you already tried changing the HDMI cable?
@nikgnomic : this is way above my head, mate!
According to MSI specifications , this system should have “1 x Mic in/ Headphone out” on the front panel to support a headsetdmesg data is showing only analog output for headphones, no input for microphone
Rear panel appears to have 2 possible output connections for HDMI audio
1 x HDMI out
but Pulseaudio appears to have only 1 sink and 1 port

I would expect if Pulseaudio was connected to the ALSA device correctly it would show as Subdevices 0/1, but the Pulseaudio sink may just be suspended if no audio is playing
I was hoping OP might have made it to TL1 (Basic user badge) to be able to post some form of link to alsa-info but that has not happened yet
amixer --card=0
to check if HDMI output has been muted (not likely)
and
grep -i snd /etc/modprobe.d/*.conf
to check if any kernel patches for audio have been added
lspci -vvnnd "::0403"
to try a websearch for a patch using the audio vendorID:productID
also suggest check pulseaudio.service for error messages
systemctl --user --no-pager -l status pulseaudio.service

Hi,
I have looked over the data a number of times, but I cannot find anything unusual in ALSA or PulseAudio
suggest you create a backup folder & move the 4 Pulseaudio database files & the Pulseaudio cookie in ~/.config/pulse/ to backup folder
mkdir ~/.config/pulse/old/ && mv -t ~/.config/pulse/old/ ~/.config/pulse/*.tdb && mv -t ~/.config/pulse/old/ ~/.config/pulse/cookie
then reboot system so PulseAudio will create new files for databases and cookie
delete backup folder rm -r ~/config/pulse/old/ if Pulseaudio is functioning OK after reboot
