No sound output before changing the sound card profile manually

I have a problem with my sound configuration.

For example, if I open the browser and then want to watch a video on Youtube, the video does not start playing. Neither picture nor sound start! The video only starts when I have changed the profile of the audio controller from “Digital-Stereo (HDMI)-Output” to something else in Pavucontrol under Configuration. I only hear the sound when I switch back to “Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output”.
If I then close and reopen the browser, I have to do the same thing all over again. Not always, but very often!

The same also happens e.g. with the Spotify Software. The system sounds work immediately.

What could that be?

i generally press the play button on the screen in a browser to get youtube videos playing. or just click on the video anywhere is usually enough?

This does not work for me! The video only starts when I have changed the setting back and forth in pavucontrol.

I noticed that pipewire is running as an audio server on my system. I usually use pulseaudio. After disabling pipewire I have no more problems. Crazy!
