No sound, audio playing according to pavucontrols

Hi, installed Manjaro recently and I can’t get any sound out of my headphones. I use a Behringer USB audio interface which is plugged into one of my motherboard USB2.0 ports.

I also did alsa-info.sh --upload, here’s the output:

have you try with this option “snd-intel-dspcfg.dsp_driver=1” added on boot kernel ?

For the USB interface I suggest clearing user settings for PulseAudio from home folder and restart PulseAudio service

rm ~/.config/pulse/*.tdb ~/.config/pulse/cookie; systemctl --user restart pulseaudio

Messages in ALSA suggest changing deprecated option for onboard audio device HD-Audio Generic [ALC1220]

[ 7.362238] snd_hda_intel 0000:0c:00.1: dmic_detect option is deprecated, pass snd-intel-dspcfg.dsp_driver=1 option instead

Changing the modprobe option only relates to onboard audio device. USB device would not be affected by these modprobe options
PulseAudio data shows onboard audio device Profile is set to off and device is not in use

Sorry where would I go to do that? the grub config?

I don’t even have an ALC1220 listed in Output or Input devices. Unless it means the GPU HDMI ones (i don’t have any HDMI’s plugged in though).

What exactly does this mean?

Edit: Oh I guess it’s the onboard audio that goes by Starship/Matisse HD Audio Controller??

see this

would it also work if I placed at the end of this?

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash udev.log_priority=3 <here>"

Okay I don’t know what thing fixed it out of the suggestions but I went to alsamixer and it was muted (wasn’t before) so I unmuted it and it works. will see if it stays.

I don’t even have an ALC1220 listed in Output or Input devices

Onboard audio output sinks and input sources are not listed in PulseAudio because device is off

But ALSA shows playback and capture devices

where would I go to do that? the grub config?

the deprecated modprobe option is not shown as a GRUB option in inxi, so it has probably been added to folder /etc/modprobe.d/

If you do not recall the name of the file created to add this option, use this command to find it

grep 'snd_hda_intel' /etc/modprobe.d/*.conf

Okay I still have audio after a few reboots so I think my no-sound problem is fixed. Now there’s just some delay. Thanks!
