My user password is not accepted

I have just updated and rebooted and then I can’t enter because the system does not recognise my password. What can I do?

My system aceepts the password but does not log in… is this normal?

could be related to the configuration of your gpu - but that is a guess as there far too little information to provide any meaningful reply.

I can’ t privide any information except a text below the log in: the current theme cannot be loaded due to the errors below please select another theme.
The layout is not in American English and it was in German

My password is accepted but it does not log in. Does it mean I need to reinstall?

Switch to a tty using ctrl+alt+f4 - then provide username and password

Then reset your theming to breeze default

Shall I switch on the log in window? Or before it appears?
Switching from the log in window does not work

yes

 $ plasma-apply-lookandfeel --list
org.manjaro.breath.desktop
org.manjaro.breath-dark.desktop
org.manjaro.breath-light.desktop
org.kde.breezedark.desktop
org.kde.breeze.desktop
org.kde.breezetwilight.desktop

 $ plasma-apply-lookandfeel -a org.kde.breeze.desktop

Then reboot the system

It does not work . I cannot switch. It looks like I have to reinstall

I am a bit confused … using the alt+ctrl+Fx normaly works fine in all contexts … at least under Arch … Fx is something like F1, F2 and the like … whenever you get a terminal screen promptin for a password you could proceed.

Boot into a live iso, provide inxi -Fza and pacman’s log files. If possible try to chroot.

I am as confused as you. It does not work at all

I have a live usb. But how can I do what you explain. Could you please be more specific?
Thank you. I am close to getting desperate

Sorry, no time currently, try to use the search engine or hope for other helpers jumping in.

Hang on … let me check on my live system

Thank you

Thank you for replying … :slight_smile:

I am now on my live usb

What keyboard layout do you have? I.e. what country are you in?

Germany

Type Strg+Alt+F2 simultaniously …
if that does not work, try different keys F1-F5

edit: Strg (Steuerung) is the german equivalent for ctrl

I have done this already. It does not work . I tried from F1 to F9. No results
