My sound is not working

The speakers work ,but the 3.5mm jack on the laptop doesn’t. I have resorted to using a adapter, can someone help me pls.

hey i’m just new to linux, when i popped the command in the terminal it just showed volume controls

alsa-info.sh data includes mixer controls for onboard audio device from amixer:

is it detecting the presence of the headphone jack

With only 1 audio device on a system, device should normally be recognised as card 0

But data from aplay arecord and amixer in alsa-info was showing card 1

If device is now recognised as card 0, previous commands should work if the card number is corrected

Or the audio device can be located in alsamixer by pressing F6

thats not even working replacing 1 w/ 0 still doesn’t allow any sound to play. It just defualts to the inbuilt speakers
