Did you rebooted? And no need to post more… It has exist in filesystem, so use overwrite:
pacman -S matcha-gtk-theme manjaro-xfce-settings --overwrite '*'
Delete all the outputs, keep only one…

Apologies for all the posts. I will clean up.
I have rebooted and tested. The good news is both kernels can be logged into. But the original problem persists. I can’t open a browser in either kernel and everything hangs and freezes in both. I get a small turning icon for waiting but it disappears and the system still freezes. I thought it was the new update but the linux5i5 kernel does the same.
Let me suggest I turn off the PC for today and come back tomorrow to you. We can carry on then but i may need to go soon. I’m incredibly grateful for your help and your effort!
Can you tell me how to delete my unwanted posts? I will do that now and then we can carry on working tomorrow. Thank you once more!

Did you reinstalled the 2 packages with overwrite?
Create a new test user, reboot, log in with the test user and see if it has the same issues…
