Machine doesn't see latest update

Hi there.

I have been running my current installation for 4 years & have never had to wait so long for an update. I have tried a variety of commands - setting mirrors to Germany, global + updating mirrors etc. Nothing seems to help. I have had a few apps update but that’s it.

Forgive me - I’m probably missing something obvious but I’ve search a lot online, before posting here.

You should generate a better mirrorlist automatically or manually.

Where do you life ?
You should use mirrors from your own country or nearby.

Hi @ruziel,

You can check the last updates in the #announcements:stable-updates thread, but I’m guessing you’re aware of that.

And according to that, the last update for the stable branch was 2023.02.03:

Check when you last did an update:

cat /var/log/pacman.log | tail -n 10

That should give you the date the last 10 transactions were performed.

Compare that against the last time you did an update, and you’d know if you’re behind or not. If you are, refresh your mirror list. Or you can do it anyway…

sudo pacman-mirrors -f 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu

And oh, figured you know this, but in case you didn’t:

Providing terminal output

Tip:

When posting terminal output, copy the output and paste it here, wrapped in three (3) backticks, before AND after the pasted text. Like this:

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby increasing legibility thus making it easier for those trying to provide assistance.

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Here is the mirrorlist of Manjaro:
you can choose your country or a country nearby.
Also: choose a mirror with fast sync.
