Hi
I’ve have a very strange wifi problem
wifi strength is very low on manjaro (kde)
I’ve tried two completely different hardware
1- new asus vivo book (uefi) with Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz
2- old dell vostro (legacy bios boot) with broadcom bcm4312
at first of connection wifi quality is at 100 percent, but suddenly it drops (in new hardware to 76 percent and in old hardware to 3 percent)
also connection seems to be too unstable and also affect other devices connected to wifi

please check the links about wifi and powermanagement. it’s possible that wifi power get’s limited and forces your trouble. especially the “unstable” connection is a indicator, this happens if wifi is powered down and it takes time to power up again.

tnx for your reply
i’ve tried suggestions in those link but nothing change with my home wifi
but i think it made a change with my phone hotspot because connection quality was 100%
both my laptops work great with ubuntu
even my old laptop has 88 percent signal strnght while its 3 percent at manjaro
i’ve also tried xfce and gnome but no luck
manjaro is really a good distro but this i only and very old problem i have.
i have this problem in garuda linux which is a arch based distro too
why there is no fix for this problem while it affects every laptop?

if you search the net “intel wi-fi6 ax201 manjaro” there are several issues and it helped a lot of users to update the linux-firmware:
sudo pacman -Qs linux-firmware
remember to reboot if you update the firmware.

You’re so helpful.
It’s now a little better than before but i need more investigating by my self.
