After the recent upgrade I got a lot of visual problems in KDE
Many of them are random and hard to catch a print such as:
- Blur turning on and off randomly
- Elements, icons and LatteDock bugging (print here)
- Panels flashing the shadow randomly
- Several “holes” in the windows appearing very quickly, but they are not black and correspond to the background
As I said, it is very random, they can go for hours without appearing, but when they do, they are very annoying and persist on the screen.
Something similar here but I have no idea if it’s mesa and if I downgrade will solve this

I capture some crash of KDE, this is the video
Unfortunaly I need to use my PC so I will downgrade all my system to previous version of Manjaro and wait for more bug fixes.
I had this kind of problem, so I switched back to the 5.4 LTS kernel - and it’s fine now. Try that first.
Next up, try creating a new TEST user and see how that goes.

I have KDE 5.21.1 and all works fine I upgrade also the kernel to 5.11.1-1.
I have a AMD RX570 GPU and a Ryzen 7 3800X
Thank you! Downgrading back to 5.4 LTS kernel solved this problem for me too.

Upgrade to Xfce! - scnr -
Seems to me like your kwin configs are corrupted and not compatible with the massively updated kwin or it’s a problem with theming. Delete configs (go back to defaults) and customize it again. See if it helps, at least for some issues. Others look like graphical driver glitches.
Or simply create a test user with default settings, log in and see if the issues happen also on this user. If not, it’s an indicator that user configs are creating the issue.

Thank you. I was able to go back to the latest kernel without the glitches. Your suggestion to delete some kwin configs after confirming the test user did not exhibit this problem worked so thank you! In my case, it’s just themes. Changing them simply fixed my problem.

I have exactly the same problem.
I tried creating a test user, but the problem persist.
The only way to avoid the problem is to switch to 5.4 LTS kernel, but it’s not a real solution and I’d like to understand why it’s happening.
