On November 11th I ran sudo pacman -Syu
and mid-download my monitors went black for a moment and I was kicked back to the login screen. After logging in I tried running sudo pacman -Syu
again but got an error message. Therefore, I thought it might be best to restart my PC and try again. However, upon boot I was greeted with this error message:
error: file ‘/boot/vmlinuz-5.15-x86_64’ not found.
error: you need to load the kernel first.
After using a flashdrive to boot into chroot I tinkered with the problem for a few hours, and now I’m stuck.
I did manage to get the boot screen to change, though. Now it gets stuck at:
root: clean, 1059582/15269888 files, 33350243/61048752 blocks
So I ran journalctl --boot=-1 --priority=3 --cata
through tty with hopes of diagnosing the problem, but frankly, I have no idea what to do. This is what it returned:

systemd-modules-load[367]: Failed to find module ’nvidia-drm’

Now, this is after I messed around and ran a bunch of commands, so I’m not really sure what’s going on anymore. My apologies. However, from what I can tell, this is likely a graphics driver problem. For instance, when running nvidia-smi
I get:
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver.
Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
All help is appreciated. Thanks.
