Installation: Canon i-Sensys LBP223dw

Hi folks,

I just want to share with you, how EASY it was to install my new LBP223dw in Manjaro / Arch Linux.

All you need is to go through the first installation steps mentioned in the handbook of the printer. Mine is connected with WIFI / WLAN to the network. Then open https:// localhost:631 in a browser and go through the installation of CUPS. I have chosen to supply a new PPD-file. CUPS already ships the appropriate PPD, but I didnt know, how “old” it is, so have chosen to download the latest driver for Linux from Canon Webpage:

UFR II/UFRII LT Printer Driver for Linux

Once you unzip the file, you will find many PPD-files and the one for the 223dw.

So choose this PPD-file when installing the printer and that’s it!

It was soooo easy to get this printer running! Recommending it!
