Some firefox users have had similar issues, specifically with HEVC hardware rendering no longer being available. Perhaps Chromium-based browsers have a similar issue.

I’m afraid I have nothing to suggest. I’m sure someone will help when they are able.

Please provide system information as descibed (below), posted as preformatted text (see links given for instructions).

Regards.

Welcome to the Manjaro community

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

Output of this command (formatted according to forum requirements) may be useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form:

inxi -zv8

Be prepared to provide more information and outputs from other commands whenever asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Have you ever specifically enabled hardware acceleration for video decoding?

I do not think so
How I can check it?

I only have Chomium, not Google Chrome - but I think the UI is similar.
If you go to Settings, you have a search box where you can look for acceleration or graphics or whatever keyword.
In Chromium the relevant setting is in the “System” category.
It was set to enabled by default - for me.

Looking at HEVC as the cause of this issue is possibly going down the wrong path. I recall a couple of threads a week or two ago that mentioned they couldn’t play videos, and the issue was resolved by installing the manjaro-pipewire meta-package, which removes the manjaro-pulse meta-package, and replaces some pulseaudio packages with their pipewire equivalents:

pamac install manjaro-pipewire

or

sudo pacman -Syu manjaro-pipewire

Removing pulseaudio including configuration files and unnecessary dependencies may also be required:

pamac remove -on manjaro-pulse

or

sudo pacman -Rns manjaro-pulse

You may need to reboot for the changes to take effect.

A similar issue & solution were mentioned recently in a Stable Updates announcement thread:

A couple of other threads since then have also had sound/playback issues resolved by replacing manjaro-pulse with manjaro-pipewire.

One thread did also mention that the helvum package also had to be installed:
