Each time I open a browser after logging in, it pops ups stopping everything until I handle it.
Is there a way to stop or bypass it?
Unnecessary and annoying.
- Which browser?
- Have you stored passwords for specific pages in the browser?
- Are you using Gnome?
Also, do you use automatic login (saved password)?
Regularly used browsers:
Mozilla Firefox
Google Chrome
Chromium
Pale Moon
Opera
Brave
Vivaldi
I login without a password, the computer is physically secure.
I use a password manager (Roboform) for Internet passwords.
across multiple computers.
I use some Gnome freeware such as gedit.
This is on a new workstation computer with a new Manjaro installation. It is replacing/augmenting a 14 year old homemade computer that runs Archlinux primarily as well as Manjaro, Debian and Windows 10 Pro. There are three other Manjaro computers, none of which have this behavior.
type or paste code here
Thatâs why youâre getting the popup. Had you logged in normally, then you would have been authenticated for everything, but with auto-login, password managers are not being authenticated to, and thus they require you to authenticate manually.
You canât have your cake and eat it.
OK, so why are my other three Manjaro systems and my Archlinux system which also login without password not requiring this âAuthentication requiredâ popupâŚ?
Maybe the keyrings in the other installations are stored with an empty password?
Or possibly theyâre not activated on login, but only when something needs a password?
I mean that Manjaro has the keyring encrypted with the userâs password, the other mentioned installations have an empty password.
I remember that this is common on systems with automatic logins.
OK guys, thanks for drop-kicking my memory
To bypass the password in the gnome key-ring password must be blank
{Download, install} open seahorse.
Drop-down âPasswordsâ [right mouse button] and login [password reqâd} - Select âchange passwordâ
Then enter a blank for the new password,
