Hello.
I need help on how to change my Keyboard settings permanently.
For some of my games i get keyboard lag which I usually fix by lowering the default keyboard Rate to around 10.
My normal workaround is to go the GUI route.
Manjaro Settings Manager / Keyboard Setting.
This will reset on reboot so I have to change it every time.
I have tried to make changes to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf but with no luck. That time i followed these instructions from the Arch wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg/Keyboard_configuration
I noticed while writing this post that there were another wiki page that uses a kbdrate.service solution which I have not tried.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Linux_console/Keyboard_configuration
If any one know the best way to do this I would much appreciate the help
Hi @RichiG84 ,
In general outputs from whatever *-=fetch
program you use, like the one provided above is of little to no use. Therefore, in the future, please see:

Welcome to Manjaro!
To allow all of us helpful people on this forum TO HELP YOU, we need some basic information about your system. This probably means you described the symptoms of your problem, but now we need some more information to know where the origin of your issue is exactly.
Someone else probably linked you to…
However, I have a custom keyboard delay/repeat rate as well, and I recommend using this method you mentioned:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Linux_console/Keyboard_configuration#Systemd_service
In Gnome, I have no idea what to set where as I use Plasma.
Thank you @Mirdarthos !
I will try this and report back with the resaults
Thank you!
This solved the issue.
I can add that I did not know that i could find the GUI settings for typing under
Settings > Accessability > Typing > Repeat Keys
After setting the exact values with gsettings i could verify the change in the GUI.
Can also verify that the change was saved after reboot
