Thats the only settings i cant take a screen shot i have no idea why
This is from the network settings on manjaro.
Hmm then im afraid you are not able to modify the DNS server your router gives out to connecting clients…
Then your only option is to force it on your side like cscs suggested above …
Ok then i cant seem to take any more screen shots not sure why thats stopped
You skipped the only one I asked for
Recap;
For the router:
(though again I am not entirely sure … but that would be where I expect that setting to be)
For your systems NetworkManager:
In that screenshot you have it set as “Method: Automatic”, you need to change that to include only address…
woops i am careful what i click on
Ohhhhh i see it now in the drop down box thanks.
So do i put both primary and secondary addresses in the dns box please
Ill bbl, need to go out to get more
(Hope you 2 figure it out in mean time)
Cigs ok no probs thanks
You can choose to fill out however much you like.
Usually DNS providers have more than one … so when one is slow or failing the other works.
Some people use this to have ‘fancy but unstable DNS by default, but otherwise use google’ for example … but for me, say using Cloudflare servers … I would put both 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
(might even run some tests to decide which one is primary)
Ok then so is cloudfare any good?
Ok so i have the sphere thats the router and i have a wifi extender so i change both to match ?
Ok so only seems i can save them to the router not to the extender. What testing tools can i use please to check whats the fastest.
