Help me installing a software that is not in repo, aur, flatpak, snap

Actually I don’t like VM. That’s why I won’t try it. But as Nachlese said it can be run. Many academic softwares only comes with option to install on Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS. Thats really pissing me off right now

sorry,i didn’t pay attention to @Nachlese response.

I actually tested it in a VM running Linux Mint.
Getting one up and running is probably easiest and quickest when doing it with Gnome Boxes.
I use Virtual Machine Manager - which is not hard to set up but also not as easy as Gnome Boxes.
But if using a VM is not an option out of principle … :woman_shrugging:

Should I mark it as a solution?

It’s not really a solution, but
… if it is a solution for you …
I’m not the one who needs to use that software.
But if I where - I’d not try to find a way to make it work natively in Manjaro after what was tried here.
I’d just boot up a VM - or use Mint or Ubuntu or whatever from the get go.
It depends on your priorities.

Thanks for your suggestion

Just performed a search:

$ pamac search
[...]
glade
3.38.2-1 extra
User Interface Builder for GTK+ applications

But I’m guessing that isn’t it.

Nope… I searched for it… Its a VLSI CAD tool

OK, then I’m sorry I’m not able to offer you more help.

No problem

If this software is available for Windows run it with “Wine.”

That’s also a possibility, I recommend using Lutris then if you go the WINE route, as Lutris provides a better WINE executable (with many patches), and also makes life easier to maintain your program WINE environment. I can help if you want to setup your program in Lutris.
