GUI freeze on login screen, after startup

Issue

I recently started encountering the following issue:
on startup, the login screen usually freezes after I start typing my password (all the gui buttons are unresponsive, though the mouse cursor is still working); if I press enter and I wait, after a bit the loading screen appears and then everything is fine.

Notable Things I Did Recently Before and After the Issue Presented Itself

Restored GRUB from a bootable device following the manjaro guide using chroot.

Hi @foffy

The details you have given might be fine for someone wishing to buy a computer, but for Support purposes more useful information is generally needed.

When providing system information it’s usually best to ask your system directly using the inxi command described (below).

Regards.
