can launch manjaro without grub though
You didn’t specify what the error is???
Assuming you are actually using GRUB and not something like systemd boot:
Update your Grub menu GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu
sudo nano /etc/default/grub
sudo update-grub
possible only if you have installed a replacement - which one?
or , you use another grub than the one from manjaro and this grub is broken 
we use manjaro grub only if we have “Manjaro” at first entry
