This… As I can no longer share images via Spectacle>imgur I decided to go with Google Drive, but it just kept failing; I got blank verification windows, and it just kept failing.
So yes, if I need to share an image URL or file, I guess I’m back to using the browser - or Dropbox public folder.
In Mint Xfce, which I currently use, it is implemented as a script that is triggered by the action of taking the screenshot and the selection to upload it to share.
I could share it here if you like.
I’m sure they have implemented the same functionality in their KDE/Plasma version.
Sure - but imgur won’t work here - I can’t log in or sign in to imgur either… and I’m not using a VPN, it’s a weird regional issue - or something I can’t fathom happening with my ISP… but with Dropbox it’s not too much hassle.
Yes, the public upload fails - saying ‘these actions are forbidden’… whilst the service doesn’t report errors. But the website also has errors in my area.
Dropping an image onto imgur website or choosing an image shows 'Something went wrong with CREATE_ALBUM_FAIL. Please try later`.
I remember that EOS have implemented a similar functionality via their pendant of the Manjaro Welcome screen.
Perhaps have a look and lift it from their example.
Should be even easier to implement on Manjaro.
… it’s not imgur that they are using, as far as I recall
… I think it was about integration - using the service from within the file manager, for instance.
Just as it was another drive/storage location.
Seamless.
Going through the browser works - but its not … seamless.
Unfortunately this works only with the gnome environment and in KDE environment only for Youtube videos, calendar & contacts and maybe mails. But not for google-drive. In gnome it works pretty well - but I do not like the Gnome environment…
Looks good - I installed it and it synchronized all data. Now I will try some bidirectional sync. If it works well I have no issue to pay some $ for using it…
Yes, I signed it up, in Dolphin a folder ‘Google24’ and when opened, Loading 'Access denied to.` (buggy notification…).
From terminal:
org.kde.kgapi: Requested resource is forbidden.
org.kde.kgapi: Requested resource is forbidden.
kf.kio.core: UDSEntry for '.' not found, creating a default one. Please fix the "kioworker" KIO worker.
The notification reminds me of a bug that occurred in dolphin for a while.
Is the GDrive directory empty?
The error only occurred when I tried to copy a file to an empty directory on my sftp server.
As a workaround i created an empty file in the directory. then the files could be copied
