Laptop freezes on boot 50% of times

Hi. My laptop freezes on boot about 50% of times. I think it’s related to the hybrid nvidia-intel gpu configuration, but I’m not sure. I’ve tried looking for solutions but haven’t found a working one.

Most of the time this is where it gets stuck:

I’m using 5.18 kernel. i7-8750H, GeForce 1060 6GB. Booting to Manjaro from external SSD, using LUKS disk encryption. ASUS TUF FX505GM laptop.

Can you go to TTY from there?

When it gets stuck on boot, I can’t.

journalctl -b -1 (when it got stuck):
http://ix.io/47ni

journalctl -b 0 (it booted fine):
http://ix.io/47nn

Could possibly be. This is the last thing happening in a non-working boot: http://ix.io/47nt

And then, as you said, you waited for 15 minutes before shutting it down. (other things beside display worked fine in background)

Hopefully this is of any help to anyone else looking at this.

Probably the same issue: System boots to black screen every now and then

mhwd -l && mhwd -li
and do you have installed optimus manager?

This seems to have worked! Thank you so much! :slightly_smiling_face:
