It has helped a forum member before and I recognise the Ryzen7/AMD780graphics combo that seems to be the culprit.

There a several possible reasons for garbled screens, ranging from bad fonts to faulty graphics, but as there have now been a few similar reports, I dare say this is likely to be the culprit, or at least worth considering.

One test would be to boot and run from a Live USB for a while and see if the problem occurs there.

I gave this a small attempt and I’d say it was inconclusive. I used the live USB for maybe 30 minutes or so, and tried to stress it a little bit; I installed a few apps, watched a 4k youtube video while browsing. I did not see any glitches during that time, however, upon returning to my normal install, I noticed that it also took 30-60 minutes for the glitches to start appearing. It seems like they might get worse as usage time increases, though I’m not entirely sure about that yet.

My point is: I didn’t see the glitches in the live usb, but I might not have used it long enough and/or with enough applications for the glitches to start. Unfortunately, since this is the computer I use for work, I don’t have many opportune moments for me to spend a couple hours on a live usb. I’ll try to respond if I’m able to get more time to try it again, assuming suggestions in the forked thread don’t lead me to any solutions.

As AMD drivers are supplied with the kernel and the APU is fairly recent, I suggest using the latest kernel - perhaps not 6.14 but 6.12.

I use a Thinkpad x13 with the same APU - I have had no issues with screen output.

I tested on youtube on the 4K channel - no problems.

It could be a hardware issue - perhaps run some extensive memory testing overnight?

Primarily I see the issue in firefox, chromium, and slack-desktop.

Attempting an update to 6.12 and will report back.

Update: I’m too new to post a reply. But it’s been glitch free since I updated the Kernel.

Looks like the solution on this set of hardware was to update to Kernel 6.12.

I updated to kernel 6.12 a few days ago and so far the issue appears to have stopped for me as well.
