Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 265M z visable-print queue says printing but no printed page in tray

I have managed to install the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 265M z (black only) laser printer with CUPS and the printer is visible the print queue.

It also gives a status of:

  • printing
  • number of pages,
  • completed

but there is nothing in the physical output tray.

The printer is connected though Wi-Fi and is operating under a Mint and a Windows OS (also connected via WiFi)

I am trying to print from a laptop with Manjaro 20.02 installed.

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

  3. the output to both lpstat -v and lpstat -l -p szPrinterName would be appreciated. (where obviously, szPrinterName is the name of your printer)

:+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

I have updated my profile as suggested and the output of lpstat -v is:

    device for FUJI_XEROX_DocuPrint_M265_z: dnssd://FX%20DocuPrint%20M265%20z._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=e3248000-80ce-11db-8000-30055caf0540
    device for HP_LaserJet_CP1525nw: hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_CP1525nw?ip=192.168.1.111

The output of lpstat -l -p FUJI_XEROX_DocuPrint_M265_z is:

  1. In the future, when providing code/output, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text so that the output looks like this:

instead of pasting it on another site as that makes both our lives much easier.

  2. No need to do anything right now as I’m an editor here on this site and have fixed it for you already. However, in the future I might not see your post so review my edits by pushing the orange pencil above the post I just fixed.

  3. That all looks good. Do you have a dual boot and oes it work under another OS?

No dual boot and the printer is operating fine with both Windows 10 PC and a PC running Linux Mint.
I wasn’t sure how to upload the output of those logs read where you should use a link like Dpaste. Thanks for the heads up.

The latest PPD I can find is from 2007, so I have no further bright ides, sorry!

:sob:

OK thanks Fabby, I have managed to print a test page on this printer and the HP laserJet but neither will print from the internet.
