Ok,
I’ve stopped trying to be smart and went on install stock manjaro, just clicking next, next, continue. Only setting up LUKS partition encryption.
I booted into the machine, see SDDM login (i.e. graphics are working), enter my password…and then the whole system gets stuck on loading bar. Not really sure what can I do about it.
Hey, this can probably be fixed, but to help you (or help yourself) some more info in required. A starting point is this post: How to provide good information
Can you post the partitioning ?
The issue appears to resolve itself on second boot. Which is great. Anyhow to fill in the required data:
partitioning:

If you see some potential issue that’d be great
Hi,
One option to check is if the nvidia drivers produce the same issue after install , the nouveau drivers are open source, the nvidia are closed. For nvidia cards my experience is that this matters and running one or the other can greatly improve your experience depending on the specific hardware one is running. See the manjaro wiki for guidance on installing the drivers on a running system.
If installing again is your preferred option to check, booting with propriety drivers enabled would be the same albeit more lengthy process. iirc this forces the installation of the propriety drivers during installation but is has been a while since I installed on hardware.
I’m not using nvidia drivers since I’m connected via Display Port…and in latest updates they borked DP support, causing me to have to reinstall everything.
Can you give some more system info ?
