Hi together, (sorry for bad formatting, posting from smartphone)
I have a big problem… I followed the dual boot tutorial from the forum “root-tip-dual-boot-manjaro-and-windows” (sorry can’t enter links here I guess) and everything seemed to work until after the installation and the first boot.
When booting the error “unknown filesystem” appears and grub rescue starts. I had this problem in a past dualboot installation and knew this can be fixed. So I did the following:
I searched with ls for the hd with ext2 as filesystem. For my surprise there are two of them (hd1,gpt7) and (hd1,gpt8)
I guess gpt8 is the home partition, since there are only the folders lost+found and usrname/
Whereas gpt7 contains boot, dev, home, … and under boot I find grub which contains the directors “x86_64-efi”
Therefore I enter the following commands:
$set root=(hd1,gpt7)
$set prefix=(hd1,gpt7)/boot/grub
$insmod normal
And now an error appears:
“Symbol ‘grub_calloc’ not found.”
A quick research told me that I may have some problems since uefi may not be setup right in the bios. However if I press F2 during startup I do not enter grub rescue but get to a black screen with just the “_”-symbol on it. It seems like I cannot enter bios either.
I do have a bootable USB but is there a way I can manage boot order in grub rescue or any other help?
I really appreciate any kinds of help since I have to work and do not know how I can fix my PC.
Thanks a lot!
*edit: I have a dual graphics card setup with nvidia and had selected non free drivers during installation, if that might be of relevance
