Dolphin Segfault

When using Dolphin and right-clicking on some empty, free space to get the context-menu Dolphin segfaults.

I tested on my workstation - could not replicate

 $ kinfo

And on my laptop - could not replicate

 $ kinfo
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
Kernel Version: 6.18.36-1-MANJARO (64-bit)

 $ dolphin --version
dolphin 26.04.2

So I am thinking there is something else going on.

I suggest disabling any additional entries in the Dolphin context menu plugins Settings/Configure Dolphin/Context menu and testing it again (log out and back in may be required). If that doesn’t fix it, disable everything in there and reenable one by one until you find the culprit.

Interestingly enough, today it works…Dolphin is no longer segfaulting!
Hooray :smiley:

Have you done anything, or do we attribute it to lower cosmic ray levels?

a reboot would empty /tmp if using tmpfs.
Or perhaps an update happened and the system hadn’t restarted so had some incompatibility somewhere, restart forced it to use updated something.

I almost always restart as part of my troubleshooting workflow if I run into issues (unless I suspect restarting will result in loss of data).

I noted this from your system info.

It indicates that you may be using hibernation (suspend to disk).

In connection with a Nvidia GPU such suspend to disk may introduce weird behavior.
