Hi All,
I’m back and asking for help from the best user community on the web.
I was finally able to upgrade from DaVinci Resolve Studio 18 to 18.6.2-2. The upgrade went well, but now the application won’t open at all. Let me know if more information is needed to help correct the issue.
I have already done the following:
Upgraded DRS using Add/Remove Software
Installed the libxcrypt-compat after the upgrade per a previous solution (DaVinci Resolve Does Not Open or Start )
Upgraded my Kernel to 6.5.5-1
Upgraded the entire system with -Syyu
Updated my nVidia driver from 470 to 535.113.01
Ran the DVS build/install one last time
Reboot
Does not open

Just give us inxi -Fazy

It would be much more helpful with some form of log or output …
For example … try starting it from terminal.
Also please see how to format code etc:

Formatting differences
Discourse – this forum’s engine – uses Markdown to format its posts, and removes “unnecessary” whitespace.
Terminal commands often produce output formatted so that they are better readable by the user, taking advantage of the monospaced font used.
Programming code often rely on indentation to make it more readable.
Using preformatting in Markdown
Markdown includes a pattern to provide preformatting when necessary.
You only need to put the part to f…
Thank you for your reply.
I ran the inxi -Fazy script and see everything about my machine. Is all this information necessary? Will this compromise my security if I post?
Regards,
Gerry
Option -z
removes identifiable information
-z, --filter Adds security filters for IP/MAC addresses, serial numbers,
location (-w), user home directory name, host name. Default on
for IRC clients
“For example … try starting it from terminal.”
I have never been able to open DRS from a terminal and I tried everything. If anyone knows, please share.

Thank you for the clarification. inxi looks very handy.

I really hope this helps. Thanks again all.

Thanks to all who replied although none of the suggestions worked for me. The issue was solved by waiting for the next version. I do remember in an earlier post someone suggested I wait for the next version. I waited and now it works and works well.

Gerry
