Hello, i have been noticing this for 3 days now
on ideal state(when i don’t use the pc at all) or in sleep mode
the CPU temperature is going so high like its being used/utilized by 100% and when i quickly open the system monitor i don’t see anything all i see is some processes that utilize the CPU between 0.4% ~ 0.8%
but the usage is around 80% on the overview tab/page in system monitor and then the usage go down until the normal usage which is between 1% ~ 5%
and when i use the pc for example just browsing or watching youtube i don’t see this behavior even when i do my work the cpu usage is around 12%
now what i can do to debug this ?
idk yet if is it because the new linux update or there’s actually a real issue and the system monitor can not find it
Thank you in advance…
alright, this is the output of the following command:

Use htop
to see what’s causing the spikes. System monitor doesn’t always show all processes.
yeah i used this and i found a process called baloo_file
that utilize the cpu by 100 i tried to took a screenshot but it was gone quickly,
i have searched a lot about it and i found this great documentation:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Baloo
and also this thread:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=193169
i have run the following command:
$ balooctl failed
/home/alharbi/snap/chromium/common/chromium/ShaderCache/GPUCache/data_1
/home/alharbi/snap/chromium/common/chromium/GrShaderCache/GPUCache/index
/home/alharbi/snap/chromium/common/chromium/GrShaderCache/GPUCache/data_1
and then i removed chromium, i installed it via snap by accident i was gonna install it using the official repository
anyways, then i run the following command:
$ balooctl purge
and the issue is gone
and i now keep an eye on baloo by the following command:
$ balooctl monitor
thanks a lot …
i hope this comment help anyone who have issues with baloo_file
