great step 1 seems to be succesful. please post the output of the 2 prime-run commands again to see the output. after this we’ll edit the grub to add nvidia as kernel-parameter.

edit /etc/default/grub (you must edit with sudo rights) and add the following to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line "optimus-manager.startup=nvidia ". be aware you have to add this parameter to the already existing ones.
after editing do an

sudo update-grub
sudo mkinitcpio -P

reboot

I also have another minor issue getting brightness to be adjustable (Can't control Lenovo laptop screen brightness) – although that just became less important now that I can use external displays… Thank you again, and to @brahma as well.

please start another nvidia-service also

sudo systemctl enable nvidia-persistenced

after next reboot it will be active
