Change display names in gnome wayland

Hey, I’ve just switched to gnome Wayland from gnome Xorg. How do I change the screen names from something like XWAYLAND0 to eDp-1 and HDMI-1 like it was in Xorg? My display scripts I had before don’t work now since I have to change them to use XWLAYND0 and XWAYLAND1 but thing I’ve noticed is that that the HDMI display doesn’t always come back to XWAYLAND1 it changes the number. Is there a way to make it easy for all display scripts like it is in Xorg?
