CD drive opens opon wakeup

Not sure where to post this, so move if needed. I recently replaced the power supply in my machine. Since then, whenever I wake up from suspend, the cd drive is poled first and then, after the os has started to come back up, the drive opens. In the BIOS the cd drive is disabled as a boot device and does not do anything when the computer is booted. before the power supply was replaced, this did not happen. Haven’t been able to find a solution, hopefully someone here can help. OS is Manjaro Cinnamon on a desktop pc.

An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

Mine is doing the same thing. Tray ejects upon resume.

Having the same problem. Posted problem in “Latest Stable Update” forum area. Had no useful response or solution given. Using XFCE. Thinking of just unplugging the CD-ROM since I hardly ever use it. Would like to find a solution though.

That workaround solves the problem. The post mentioned the eject button would no longer work, but it does indeed still work, as well as the eject command line program and K3b.

FYI I encountered this problem on another distro and traced it back to a change in the Linux kernel, specifically this one git commit 7dd753ca59d6c8cc09aa1ed24f7657524803c7f3 in the stable kernel tree.

It appears to be a regression, reverting the change makes the problem disappear from my machine.
