Canon pixma tr4756i

Hi, All I can’t find a printer driver that allows me to use the printer on the above. I’m attaching system information, I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.12.19-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVC1

Same answer as here:

Network printer added but does not print (Cannon Pixma mx-410) - #4 by Nachlese

it doesn’t need a driver when connected via network.

AirPrint / IPP everywhere are keywords …

Or look here:

Your BIOS is quite old. It may be beneficial to check your mainboard manufacturer for the latest non-beta BIOS update.

Regards.

Yes I am aware of this, but I have other distros installed on the same machine and since everything works perfectly I would like to avoid any risk unless forced.

Regards.

Mod edit:- Only use preformatted text when it’s needed for code or command output.

Well, you’re the administrator of your machine, and ultimately responsible for your own maintenance; we can only bring these potential issues to your attention.

Cheers.

Thanks soundofthunder. I followed your suggestion and updated my computer's bios. Now I'm waiting for someone to tell me if it's possible to solve the printer problem. Best regards and thanks again for your suggestions.

Have you tried the driver that @Nachlese suggested?

In order to build packages from the AUR, make certain that you have the base-devel package installed.
You also may need linux-headers appropriate for your kernel. (sudo pacman -S linux612-headers)

If you plan on using Pamac to build the package you also have to have AUR support enabled in Pamac.

sudo pacman -S base-devel

In terminal:

pamac build cnijfilter2

Most welcome.

Again, a reminder to;

For any other comments just enter them as you normally would.

Regards.
