Dear experienced users of Manjaro, can you please help me? I have access to CLI when I repace quiet with 3 in boot parameters. When I remove that parameter, I get the message below. I tried 4 different kernels including 4.14 and 5.10

Edit: Thanks everyone! @cscs 's suggestion worked. I ran lightdm from tty and received an error relating to optimus-manager. After removing it, the problem is gone:sudo pacman -Rns optimus-manager-qt
Hi @Florian2 , and welcome!
If it is just a temporary parameter added at the GRUB screen, then rebooting ad removing it the same way you added it, would work.
If you permanently added it in /etc/default/grub then it’s a bit more complicated, but not too much. The big question then would be, can you log into your PC from the screen you’re presented with?

I added the temporary parameter because it enabled me to access tty. If I remove the parameter I get the message I pasted in the original message of this post. So I’m able to access the CLI, but cannot login into XFCE as I usually do, instead I get those messages.

Let’s try and sync your system. Run:
pamac upgrade --enable-downgrade --overwrite
AFAIK it should ask you for the root password, if necessary.
Root all the way, yes.pacman -Q doesn’t even list it.

Target not found. I tried removing with yay, pacman, pamac.

I might have installed it with yay but now I’m not able to uninstall it, it says target not found.yay -R vala0.44 and valapacman -R vala0.44 and valapamac remove vala0.44 and vala
In that case, let’s try a slightly
pamac install vala0.44 --overwrite && pamac remove vala0.44 --overwrite
NOTE: I have no idea what it’ll do or break, so if you continue, continue at own risk.
That command doesn’t run. overwrite needs a parameter, is it possible to limit to vala?

I had to leave as well, will update in an hour. Do I need to anything after a successful update other than restarting and hoping?
