Boot to blank screen

Booting to blank screen is back again. It started after the latest stable update. I tried the old stuff that used to fix it, but it doesn’t work. I tried removing splash, but there is no splash to remove. I tried removing quiet, that seemed to work for a day, then today the blank screen is back.

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

  • Please install both kernels 5.4 and 5.10 LTS (Long Time Support) and see which one of the two troubles you least and report back afterwards and we’ll take it from there…

Thanks! I tried going down to 5.10. It seems to have fixed it. It also seems to have fixed the Gnome bug where it gets stuck in overview. Although it still gets stuck, but only on the first use. After refreshing Gnome it does ok.
